36 Hour Activity Director Training
The Comprehensive Group, in partnership with Harper College, is offering a fresh and innovative 36 Hour Activity Director Course. Perfect for staff in long term care facilities, this course will also be invaluable for independent and assisted living community activity staff looking for new ideas to motivate and enhance resident participation. Topics will include:
Innovative activities for groups and 1:1 programs.
Special events.
How to motivate your residents.
Programs for residents with dementia and chronic mental illness.
Activity calendars for dementia units.
Programs for short-term rehab residents.
Documentation, including assessments, progress notes and care plans.
Culture change/pioneer programs.
Managing the activity department and staff.
Preparing for state surveys.
This course meets Illinois Department of Public Health requirements for the 36 Hour Activity Director Course.Audience: Activity Directors, Assisted Living and Independent Living Activity Coordinators
Course fee: Contact Harper College. Includes lecture, manual and handouts. Lunch is on your own.
IMPORTANT: Participants are required to attend all classes to earn a certificate of completion and to be recognized by IDPH as an activity director. Faculty members require participants to attend all class hours; no exceptions.
