OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Identify specific developmental features in trunk, upper and lower extremities in the typical population.
Explain the importance of proper alignment for support and initiation of movement patterns.
Utilize basic assessment techniques for biomechanical alignment and range of motion.
Relate assessment findings to problem solve and develop treatment options.
Identify contraindications to taping.
Be familiar with taping materials including: Leukotape, Hypafix, Kinesio® Tex tape, neoprene, Nustim wrap, Prowrap, Fabrifoam, and latex-free tapes.
